Today we took a test, i feel like i did really good on it. It was only thirty three questions and all of it was multiple choice. there was some stuff I didn't know on it because i got a couple of people confused like socrates and plato. I thought that plato was the one who got killed for teaching children what he thought. But that was really socrates. We just got our test back too. he graded it pretty fast. I got a 79 which isnt what i wanted. Its annoying cause only once person got a A and only like 2 people got B's.

Today in class we had another review day and we talked about Hellenistic Culture, it was very interesting. Hellenistic culture in a blend of Greek, Egyptian, Persian, and Indian culture. We talked about how Alexandria became the foremost center of commerce and culture/civilization. The main attractions of Alexandria were Alexander the Great's coffin (not actually alexanders body). A famous lighthouse named Pharos. And a huge library which had over 500,000 papyrus scrolls. The science and technology was a big part of the culture. Some famous astronomers were Aristarchus who found out that the sun is at least 300 times bigger than earth, and that earth and other planets revolved around the sun, Ptolemy who disagrees with Aristarchus and thinks earth is the center of the universe,  And finally Eratosthenes  estimated the real size of earth, also says its round. Unfortunately, by 150 B.C. Hellenistic culture is falling and Rome is on the rise.

today in class it was like a review day. We were going to have a test today but he moved it to Wednesday due to the snow days last week. Today during the review day, we talked about alexander the great. Its crazy because as the king of Macedonia, he never lost a battle. He first became king after his father Phillip II was killed at his daughters wedding. After Phillip II was killed, Alexander immediately proclaimed himself king. He would then build an army to eventually takeover Greece AND Persia. Unfortunately at the age of 32, he died from an unknown cause. Some say he could've been poisoned, he could've gotten an STD, or he could've just gotten a fever.

So yesterday we got out of school early and I forgot to do my blog so I’m doing it now. in class we had to listen to one more presentation. It wasn’t that good but the topic was pretty cool. It was about Homer. A blind man who wrote poems over 10,000 lines long. In my opinion he’s not real cause it’s just not possible to memorize over 25,000 lines when you can’t even see them on the paper. After that our teacher showed us pictures or his dogs and his farm.

Today in class we just read pages 146-149 in the textbook, it was pretty interesting. We learned about the spread of hellenistic culture which is also known as Greek culture. Alexandria became the foremost center of commerce and hellenistic civilization. Archimedes was a very important scientist in this culture. He studied at Alexandria and estimated the value of pi. Colossus of Rhodes was a bronze statue that stood more then 100 feet high.

Today in class we just watched groups present there projects, today there was only two groups so we didn't watch them for long. I don't remember what the presentations were like but i remember that one of the people in group 1 got a zero because he didn't do any work. He told someone his grade went from a 93 to a 44. that shows me that on all projects i need to do as much work as the rest of my group if i want an A.

Today in class we watched people present their projects and they were really cool. one of the groups was really interesting and told about almost everything we've learned about in the third quarter. the second group wasn't as good. they had good facts but the way they presented it wasn't good. There was only two groups that shared so i dont know what else to really say about our class. all we did after that was have a chance to type our blog.

Today in class we go to work on our project so today I just planned out how I was going to make my shields for Athens and Sparta. The shields are going to be really cool because I’m going to cut the out in perfect circles and the. I’m going I paint them just like the actual shields they used. My partners are making the rest of the armor and weapons so we can have a battle between Athens and Sparta. It’s going to be really cool.

Today in class we had a fun day. Since it was Friday we didn’t really do much and when you don’t do that much it is always a good day. So anyways, in class we just listened to the teacher talk for a while but towards the end of class our teacher just let us sit on our computers and do whatever we wanted. I took advantage of it and started my other homework so I didn’t have to do it over the weekend

Today we watched the rest of the video about philosophy and then worked on our group project. We have a new member in our group so we don't have to do as much as we did before. All i have to do now is make one shield for Athens and one for Sparta. It is going to be a very interesting project. I have a good feeling about our group and i feel we are going to do well on it. It is due soon so i'm hoping my group members will be able to do there part and bring it in on time. What i have left, is I have to paint the shields and its going to be tough because the shields are very.
